Vanaf januari 2020 werken WITTE ROOK in Breda en ruimteCAESUUR in Middelburg samen aan een jaarprogramma.
Witte Rook is een online en offline platform dat zich richt op het geschreven woord, het authentieke beeld en kunstenaarsprocessen. Dit uit zich in het bieden van werkperiodes en online publicaties.
ruimteCAESUUR staat voor de autonomie van de kunst en stelt het oeuvre van de kunstenaar centraal in het organiseren van (solo)tentoonstellingen. Zo wordt kunstenaars een podium geboden om in een niet-commerciële omgeving hun werk te kunnen presenteren. De ont-moeting en het leren van elkaar nemen bij ruimteCAESUUR een belangrijke plaats in.
Witte Rook programmeert in ruimteCAESUUR zes solotentoonstellingen met kunstenaars die zich op geheel eigen wijze verhouden tot deze vragen. ruimteCAESUUR verkent op haar beurt de online wereld van Witte Rook door een serie aan de tentoonstellingen verbonden artikelen te publiceren. Samen bieden we een beeldend perspectief op de rol van internet in de artistieke praktijk, en vragen we tegelijkertijd naar de waarde van offline (tentoonstellings)plekken.

From January 2020 on, WITTE ROOK in Breda and space CAESUUR in Middelburg are working together on an annual program.
WITTE ROOK [ WHITE SMOKE ] is an online and offline platform that focuses on the written word, the authentic image and artist processes. This is reflected in the provision of work periods and online publications.
ruimteCAESUUR stands for the autonomy of art and places the oeuvre of the artist at the center of organizing (solo) exhibitions. In this way artists are offered a platform to be able to present their work in a non-commercial environment. Meeting and learning from each other play an important role in ruimteCAESUUR.
In ruimteCAESUUR, WITTE ROOK programs six solo exhibitions with artists who relate to these questions in their own unique way. ruimteCAESUUR, in turn, explores the online world of Witte Rook by publishing a series of articles linked to the exhibitions.
Together we offer a visual perspective on the role of the internet in artistic practice, and at the same time we ask about the value of offline (exhibition) places.
